dumpling is a traditional chinese food. On the lunar new year s day most families make a lot of delicious dumplings. To make them follow this easy process.

The first step is to mix the flour with water. when the dough is ready we can begin to make dumpling wrappers. we use a rolling pole to roll the dough into small thin and round pieces so that they will be easy to cook. when the wrappers are done it s time to prepare the filling. Usually we use meat such as beef or mutton and some vegetables such as cabbage or carrots for filling.
You may actually choose whatever you like to put into it. we must chop those things into small pieces.Then put some salt oil and other condiments into it and stir it evenly. When all these preparations are done we can start making dumplings. First put a spoonful of filling in the center of the wrapper. Then stick the two opposite sides together and then the rest.

Don t just cover the filling with the wrappers. The best shape of dumplings is that of a ship because when they are boiling in the pan they look like ships sailing in the sea. The smell can make your mouth water.

Football is a game in which 22 people chase one ball around a large field. The aim of the game is to get the ball into the net to score.

After all, it’s such an easy game, and yet people go crazy mad over it. The answer lies in two facts. One is the game itself. Sometimes it is beyond any description. Football is a game of passes and techniques, passion and love, more importantly, unity is the key---the whole team working as one, united they will never be defeated.
The European’s style. of play is like a Waltz, the Brazilian like a Samba, and the passionate Argentineans play as if they are doing a Tango. Football is so unpredictable, so unbelievable. You will never know who will win until the last minute. Especially when suddenly there is a goal, the fans who have been sitting on the edge of their seats, will be wild with joy and excitement;
and the losers with disappointed hearts will despair over their teams.
The other is of course the super stars. Each one has his own personality, just like my idol Ronaldo. When he smiles, we all smile with him. Who can forget that buck-toothed smile, or that unique hairstyle. during the 20xx World Cup. Ronaldo was born to a poor family. He has set an example to children who can’t afford a pair of shoes, but have talent and a passion for football.

He gives them confidence and hope of a better future.

I received a devastating blow to my self-confidence in the first interview of my college years. I applied to be a host in our Student Acting Troupe and felt confident that I would be accepted. But one of the panel members told me: "You seem inadequate and you are a little vertically-challenged." My life has never been the same since. I used bigger heels to complement my height and psychological maneuvers and tricks to hide my lack of confidence.
But no matter how hard I tried to look the part, there was still something missing.
As president of English Club, I organized the rehearsal of Snow White for an English party. Unfortunately, we could not find an actor to be the last dwarf. It had to be someone who was humorous by nature and fluent in English. Suddenly, all eyes turned to me, and I knew I would have to be the dwarf. To my great surprise and delight, once on stage, I was totally absorbed in the performance and my humorous nature was put to full use.

As the dwarf, I was a big hit.
Yes, each of us is only one among millions of others, but each of us is an individual and each of us is unique. Cultivating our individuality will transform our lives, making of them a kaleidoscope of new colors and textures.
A world deprived of diversity would be a bland and boring place. The real tragedy is not being short or shy or ugly, but having your identity lost in a world in which everyone is a clone of a model cool boy or a flawless charming girl.
Given a choice, I would rather be ugly than live in such a world. Id rather be a genuine dwarf accompanying a Snow White than be a Snow White among nothing but Snow Whites. I would rather be myself. I would contribute my individual and unique colors to create a more diverse universe. Please, be yourself.

One day in 1819, 3,000 miles off the coast of Chile, in one of the most remote regions of the Pacific Ocean, 20 American sailors watched their ship flood with seawater.
Theyd been struck by a sperm whale, which had ripped a catastrophic hole in the ships hull. As their ship began to sink beneath the swells, the men huddled together in three small whaleboats.
These men were 10,000 miles from home, more than 1,000 miles from the nearest scrap of land. In their small boats, they carried only rudimentary navigational equipment and limited supplies of food and water.
These were the men of the whaleship Essex, whose story would later inspire parts of “Moby Dick.”
Even in todays world, their situation would be really dire, but think about how much worse it would have been then.

No one on land had any idea that anything had gone wrong. No search party was coming to look for these men. So most of us have never experienced a situation as frightening as the one in which these sailors found themselves, but we all know what its like to be afraid.
We know how fear feels, but Im not sure we spend enough time thinking about what our fears mean.
As we grow up, were often encouraged to think of fear as a weakness, just another childish thing to discard like baby teeth or roller skates.
And I think its no accident that we think this way. Neuroscientists have actually shown that human beings are hardwired to be optimists.
So maybe thats why we think of fear, sometimes, as a danger in and of itself. “Dont worry,” we like to say to one another. “Dont panic.” In English, fear is something we conquer. Its something we fight.

Its something we overcome. But what if we looked at fear in a fresh way? What if we thought of fear as an amazing act of the imagination, something that can be as profound and insightful as storytelling itself?
Its easiest to see this link between fear and the imagination in young children, whose fears are often extraordinarily vivid.

genghis khan, "khan of khans", was the great leader of mongolians. at the end of 12th century, he united mongolian tribes and challenged other powers to expand his huge mongolian empire, which extended from south china to the caspian sea.
in 1277, khan attacked the west xia kingdom (presently ningxia) and encountered strong resistance. he died of disease and age. the great emperor was later buried secretly according to mongolian custom. it says that after the burial 2,000 men were slaughtered by some 800 soldiers who were in turn executed so that the location of the real tomb remains a secret.
there are four sacrifice ceremonies held annually to commemorate the great hero and leader of the mongolian people. the ceremony, held on march 21st on lunar calendar, is the grandest. after the ceremony, horse racing, archery and wrestling are held as entertainment.

when i was young, i used to be very naughty. life then was like a glaball ,shining with bright colours. i had once gone down to the river bank, catching a great many worms and was afterwards punished by mum. i had ever cut the pillow towel into pieces in order to make clothes for my dolls. similarly, i was then blamed seriously. once i even put the hot iron on the floor which immediately burnt a big hole on the carpet.
although i had done so many annoying things, my childhood seemed to be rather colourful. however, i had never had a clear definition about myself. but then something happened. it had made a great difference to my life and made who i am now.

i had always been afraid of having the intravenous drop in hospital. the first time i was taken to have the drop, i cried for almost half an hour and finally gave off at fathers severe scolding. watching the cold needle stabbing into my skin, i cried even more loudly. at that time, i never dared to take a glance at my hand and always needed my mother to stay with me at my side.
even if mum had told me many times," honey, there’s nothing to be scared of. just close your eyes and sleep." i would still keep my eyes wide open, watching the liquid flow through the bottle and never slept.
nevertheless, things just happened in a casual way. when i caught a high fever again when young, mum had to send for the doctor home to treat me. i was so sick that i became quite drowsy and then slept. when i suddenly woke up in the afternoon, i found the liquid in the bottle had already flown over ,while mum and dad were not around. i yelled, but finally found it was of no use.

so i jumped out of the bed and pulled up the tubule. in the nature of things, the blood came out and dropped along the way i went downstairs. things became different at the time i went down alone. i discovered that i could be independent. i was much stronger than i had thought. looking back on the girl who cried all day, i came to understand suddenly that the strong part of the inner myself had been existing all the time.
seeing the anxious mum, i revealed a big smile to her. i could see that mum was trying to hold her tears back and scrubbed my blood on the hand. she didnt know that her little girl had stealthily grown up.
since then, i became stronger. as you see now, standing in front of you is a confident and sunny girl. in my grown-up life, ive never cried for being injured no matter how serious it is. i can even go to the hospital alone when mum and dad are on business. i came acroso many difficulties in life, while ive never thought of giving up. thanks to that extraordinary experience at my age of ten, i discovered a person inside myself who has been so important and unique to me.

On January 24, Li na won over Sharapova in the women s singles final. This is the third time that Li na has gone into the grand slam finals. Once again, On January 26, Li na went against a new opponent name Azarenka. On that day of the game, Li na was in the leadin the first inning, but during the second inning, she accidently fell down twice. People were shocked and sad about how she could not continue the game.

But because of the people being worried, she doggedly continue the game, making the audience cheer and applauding her for her effort to continue her game. A t that time ,audience applauded foe her persistence.Although she lost the game, her hard effort and insistency moved us and motivated us.
And this case also appreaded in tthe men singles final the next day. Two opponents named Murray and Djokovic were against each other. Due to the game, Murrays foot had blisters that affected the way he played. The doctor had to treat his wound with medicine. As human beings, if we had blisters on our foot, we may feel a lot of pain and dont want to walk.
However, as an athlete, Murray had to withstand the pain and strive for the victory.
As far as I’m concerned, for professional athletes, games have become a part of their life. They fight inthe match, fight for their dream,and enjoy thir games.

As students, studying is a part of our life.I know we may be confronted with many different kinds of problems,have you ever wangted to give it up? frankly speaking, at first i had some difficulty following the teachers. however, through my own efforts and thanks to my teachers guidance, i made remarkable progress. now ive benefited a lot from lectures and many other academic reports.
learning is a long process； ill keep exploring in the treasure house of knowledge to enrich myself. this summer i got out of the ivory tower and entered the real world. a publishing house offered me a part—time job in compilation and revision.
at the beginning i was belittled by my colleagues. but they were really surprised when i translated seven english articles over 5,000 words on only one day. gradually, they began to look at me with respectful eyes. in their opinion i turned out to be a useful and trustworthy colleague.

THE first time I saw Bao was in 20xx, the year when Thomas and Uber Cup was held. At that time he was playing against Li zongwei, who is also a good player from Malaysia. Bao beat him. To tell the truth, at first the reason why I liked him was just because I thought he was pretty.*(maybe it is not a suitable word, but I think no better word can describe him, he is really pretty!
) From that time, I have focused on him. Then gradually, I found that he not only has good appearance, but also has a talent for badminton.

He is very tall, about 1.90 meters. He is the tallest one among all the players in the Chinese Badminton Team. In 2006, he is chosen as the flag holder stands for China in the opening ceremony in the 15th Asian Games held in Doha. It was the first time that the badminton players were chosen to take over the special task, before which time, it belonged to the basketball players.
It was a great honor. And it also proved that Bao was an excellent athlete. We are all proud of him.
He began to play badminton when he was at primary school. In 2000, he won his first good medal, which was significant to him, in Guangzhou. Because of that, he entered the Chinese Badminton Team. As he is as old as Lin dan, who is the top one in the world, he is always put into a situation which is not good to him. He seldom beats Lin dan. In fact, his techniques are comprehensive, but he is lack of passion, the desire to win is not so strong.

So he always has misplays. Due to this, he seldom wins the gold medal. I think this is related to his character. He is easygoing and couth; he looks as if he will never get angry with anybody. So this affects him while he is playing badminton. In a period of time, critical voice has come towards him. He is under great pressure. He was not in the best state.
But recently he cheers up again. Several days ago, the Chinese Badminton Championship 2007 was held in Guangzhou. I went to see him on Saturday. I was very excited, and I shouted loudly, hoping he could hear me. There is no doubt that he won the game. Before he went away, he waved hand to us, how excited I was at that time! The next day, he beat Li zongwei again and he won the man’s single gold medal.
All of us are very happy. After 7 years, which could be a long time for an athlete, he proved himself again in Guangzhou, which is considered as his lucky place.

I think this will be the energy of his advancing. And I hope he can keep this fighting .
