出现

行为

The Highway Worm (current nickname, also known as leather worm, human worm, or giant worm.) is a species of unknown origin, but is theorized to be an unprecedented mutation of some sort of large worm species.

Appearance
Highway Worms are large, worm-like creatures with eyes and a human-like mouth. It's body like that of a worm, but heavily uneven and for the lack of a better word, "bumpy.” the average highway worm is around 18-20 feet long. It’s skin is a mix between grey and dull yellow, and appears leatherish in texture. Although most of the Highway Worm resembles an enlarged worm, it's back-end is like that of a snake's tail. The Highway Worm has two glowing eyes on it's head, which are theorized to give it remarkable nocturnal sight. The creature itself is theorized to be mainly nocturnal, infact, because they are rarely seen before the sunset begins or after dawn is finished.

Behavior
The Highway Worm is a solitary creature, and is often found hiding in places close to highways (for example, bushes, behind signs, etc.), curled up and out of view. when a car passes by, the Highway Worm lunges out. if it lunges out at the right time, it will break the car window and frighten the driver, before swiftly grabbing onto the driver with it's mouth and slinking back into it's hiding spot. if it lunges out at the wrong time, it will miss and get minor injuries by the car. other than humans, Highway Worms are known to feed on large rodents and deer that run across the highway. while consuming it's prey in it's hiding spot, the highway worm will wriggle around and shake it's prey until it is in a state of stunned shock or dead. the only creatures that highway worms are known to flee from are large trucks (while lunging, highway worms can be run over by large trucks if they don't lunge high enough), and larger highway worms.

in the event that highway worms exist in an area with no highways, they simply wait in any place that they can hide in, and feed on anything they can fit in their mouths.
Highway Worms produce extra-light spores once every 2 and a half years. the spores travel in unpredictable places, and the unpredictable movement of these spores is what lead to Highway Worms existing in Europe.
Locations
Highway Worms are known to exist in Florida, multiple small cities in Europe, and Tokyo.

Trivia
The Highway Worm was only found in 2015, although ever since then, they have been common. it is unknown how they simply popped into existance, or evaded human discovery for this long.
It is theorized to be an adult bridge worm, although there is no connection currently evident. worm
