Ruby站立不动，正还在想Weiss什么意思，然后眼睛瞥向支撑着她的金属腿…
Weiss又看向窗外：
"When I sawwhat happened to yo , I know that with our current abilities now, we won't beable to hold the new threat back. The recent encounters with Yang and Blakeonly serve to reaffirm that belief. And not even now, say even if we managed todefeat this threat, what if something even bigger comes. In history, we humanshave relied on our ability to evolve and adapt to survive. Weiss的眼睛圆瞪，看着Ruby冲到面前揪着自己衣领，眼中怒火冲天，眼角溅出泪水：

I've seen her for myself Weiss, hooked up likea puppet in that canister of yours, do you know how terrified I was then, howconfused I was ?"

Ruby的最后一句话终于使Weiss爆发了，伴随着多年来所有压抑的感情。这一刻她感到胸口在燃烧而自己在尽力不崩溃。她的拳头握得越来越紧，而嘴唇紧扣着，尽力阻止自己流泪。
这时候Weiss开始反击夺开深色发女人抓着她衣领的手，推开摆脱她。慢慢抬起脸，几乎可以看见她微微颤抖的肩膀，在帽檐下听见那模糊的深呼吸声，然后青瞳对上银瞳。
"Do you notthink that I'm trying my best here … Do you know how hard is it to shoulder allthese responsibilities that I have, to have people's lives and essentially thefuture of humanity placed under your care? Don't you think,…. Don't you thinkthat I know what suffering and pain feels like too, when I see the people whoare dear to me get hurt. How did you think I was when I carried you into thecarrier with blood covering us from head to toe, how do you think I was when Iwatched pushed you in that wheel chair, when Yang was helping you walk while Ihad to carried on with my work. HOW THE LIVING HELL DO YOU THINK I WAS WHEN IWAS SOBBING IN YOUR LAP THEN. I know pain Ruby, maybe even more than you do,and I'm haunted everyday by some of decisions that I had to made but do youknow why I do it ? Because It is the duty of a leader to make decisions thatwill benefit the greater majority. That is not something that I will jeopardizeeasily, much less for a girl who haven't grown up from her fairytale yet andher "friend" who has always been a machine and that I had minimalhistory with."

随着她撕喊向那深色发的女猎人Weiss感觉负担减轻了。她终于释放了自己的压力阀，她终于可以倾泻一切问题和关切，以自认为更好，更有逻辑的话语回击她的搭档使她感到诡异的愉悦。但在这“放纵”中，她没能注意到自己的过火。Ruby静止不动，刘海掩盖了她的表情。Weiss仍然穷追不舍：

一切都停止了。
她的话语，她的思绪。
一切都终结于一声响亮的击打声回荡房间。
Weiss一开始还未能反应过来，然后她感受到了一边脸上传来的响声和阵痛。她慢慢把手盖在那边脸上，并把头转向那使她疼痛的力量源，她所看到的恐怕更让她受伤。
Ruby站在那，手臂还保持着那姿势。再也感受不到那几分钟前的愤怒了，泪水满布眼眶，眉皱间显露着悲伤。牙齿咯磨着，鼻尖泛红。其中当然有氲火，但更多的是痛苦。
在话语中，Weiss的目光不得不不停挪开，直到这时，Weiss才想到自己言论的结果。她的眼神充满罪恶感和恐惧，试图挪动嘴唇道歉。但是不知为何，她的嘴僵住了但想说的话语正全力逃出喉咙。
Weiss终于发出声时像经历了永恒般的一刻。
"Ruby…. I… I'm… "
"Ithought you were better than this"
“我原以为你比这更好”
随着最后一句，深色发的女猎人迅速转身从房间消失。
这一刻，一切都像在高塔里的公主。
