In these six years, Zhang Yunlei worked in KFC and pool rooms and even made calls in the China Netcom Bldg. He said, “I was the best worker there at that time.” He talked as if it were nothing. But the self-doubt and confusion about his future were so clear to us.
在这六年里，张云雷去肯德基打过工，在台球厅摆过球，还去了网通大厦，就专门打电话，按他自己的话来说，就是“我那会是打得最多的”。语气轻松，轻拿轻放，但这其中可能会出现的自我怀疑、前路迷茫，大家不用想就能明白。
Later, he performed with Yang Jiulang. Because of his cute and peevish style, Yang Jiulang couldn’t think of punch-lines to talk back, so he would just stare at Zhang. Then, it was like there was chemistry between them, so they became regular partners.
后来张云雷和杨九郎搭档演出，他耍宝卖萌的相声风格经常让杨九郎接不住哏，于是杨九郎就看着张云雷，看着看着俩人就看出了含情脉脉的意思，成了铁搭档。
In 2016, Zhang Yunlei almost died when he fell off a platform at Nanjing Railway Station. After resting for half a year, he returned to the crosstalk arena with steel nails in half of his body.
2016年，张云雷在南京火车站意外坠台，差点去了半条命。休养了半年之后，张云雷带着打了半个身体的钢钉，重返相声舞台。
In the following shows, Yang Jiulang, who refused to change his partner and even wanted to work behind the curtain with “little braid”, always supported his crippled partner every time and insisted on performing in every show.
