Tommy cleared his throat to stop his own ramblings and took a deep breath, just wanted any sort of reaction, anything that would give him something to work with here
“What are you doing here Tommy?”
Purpled said gruffly, as if he hadn’t heard the whole explanation Tommy had just given that made everything perfectly clear. As Tommy went to reiterate that he was just checking in on his bud Purp man, Purpled added
“You haven’t talked to me for years, don’t show up now and pretend. Please don’t lie to me and say you care, please, let me do what I need to do.”
The upfrontness of it all startled Tommy, everything was said like he was a divorced Dad who had just finished a 12-hour shift, all except for the ‘please’ which sounded like true pleading. Tommy did nothing but grab Purpled’s other arm, making them face him and pull him into a hug.
