Chapter 3 The Floating Skeleton (II)(3)

The residence of the butcher was a single detached house whose façade was his meat shop, two bedrooms were in the middle of the single detached house, some pigsties and a slaughter room were in the yard. Behind the yard, there was a half-acre’s pond.
We all lost heart like a deflated ball after we saw his house. So big a house, to find some evidence was simply like to search for a needle in the ocean. More frustrating was that everywhere was blood and soft tissues in the slaughter room which was full of bloody scent. How could we find some blood and some soft tissues belonging to human being among pig blood and pork?
Baron said, “The most probable dismemberd place was his slaughter room, we don’t have any quick solutions either, take the physical evidence as much as possible, and we take them back to do the species-identification experiment.”
According to Baron’s directions, we began to extract the blood and the soft tissues in the slaugher room one by one, and separately put them into the material evidence bag. After two or three hours, the sun had already climbed to its zenith, we still bent down to look for the suspicious clues. Looking at the hundreds of examined materials, I said to myself, when could we get the result through the hundreds of species-identification experiments?
