Following Qb’s instruction, Mami started her second life. However, it was not goes well as Mami expected. The first time Mami literally contact with Witch was in the last month. At that time, she almost comprehended the techniques of using magic to fight with witches. When she got into the Boundary, it is unlucky that there were only Sub-witches, which are the splits of Witch which does not contain grief seed.
However, even fighting with sub-witches almost killed her. The ribbons, a way of applying magic, created by Mami was easy to defend, but hard to attack. Even she successfully controlled the sub-witch with ribbon, killing it was still hard. Finally, Mami consumed large amount of magic to shrink the ribbon to kill the sub-witch. Unfortunately, it caused filth accumulated more quickly in her Soul Gem. The scenario had not become more optimistic until Mami finally find a way to use her power to twine ribbon into a one-shot gun, which have saved her from a lot of life-threatening situation.

Getting inside the boundary and dealing with the sub-witches are the easy parts. But as she goes deeper into the boundary, the breathing of the witch becomes stronger, stronger than any witches she met before. Mami releases a piece of ribbon and tries to detect conditions of the witch. Leading by the ribbon, Mami and Qb goes deeper. Although nothing horrible have appeared, the uneasy feeling is growing.
