When he reached the box office, he overheard a conversation while waiting in line. “Hey, did you hear that the Merlin train had broken the speed limit and had an accident some time ago. ” “What? Why?” But another man broke off speaking to answer the telephone. Just then, he heard the conductor say to the man before him, "Oh boy! The last ticket is sold out.” But he remained calm, his mind racing, all matters was broken down into several things. The sun shone through a break in the curtains, which hit his face. An idea popped into his head. He stepped forward and said to the conductor, “I'd like to buy a ticket on the Merlin train. ” “Are you sure? ” the conductor responded in an astonishing tone. “I may as well buy it. No other way for me. ” he smiled. “Alright.” The conductor said, handing him the ticket. Got the ticket, Mr. Earnshaw breathed a sigh of relief.
On the train, there was a sudden agitation. Mr. Earnshaw stepped towards; a skinny boy was being beaten black and blue by a man in black. Compassion sprung from his heart. He immediately stepped in to stop and save the child. The man in black was resentful but gave up, and turned away. Then Mr. Earnshaw took the little boy to his seat, comforting him. Mr. Earnshaw asked him some questions, but the boy only looked at him in bewilderment and horror. Suddenly, the boy whispered a sentence, frowning. Mr. Earnshaw couldn’t understand it, he recognized it as a broad northern accent. At this point, the train was going faster and faster, as if trying to defy gravity. He was aware of the urgency of the situation——The train was bound to meet a still worse accident. He and the boy were in the same boat. Without thinking, he grabbed the little boy by the hand and jumped with him out of the window. Mr. Earnshaw fell into a coma after the violent collision. When he woke up, the boy had disappeared.
