Fearful, I asked, "Is Mar here?"
“玛尔在这吗?”我惊慌地问。
His face softened. "No. Not for a few years now."

I could tell from his reaction what had happened, but I didn't want it to be true. "How?"

The web of your existence was merely losing strands as the creature ate its way through you."
